About

Di Garbi is an artist who defies musical boundaries, blending classical, electronic, and contemporary influences to create immersive soundscapes that bridge genres and eras. As a classically trained pianist and a vocalist rooted in rhythmic experimentation, she draws inspiration from icons like Mozart, Debussy, and Satie, yet seamlessly channels the spirit of modern trailblazers like Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Laurie Anderson, and Scott Walker. Her compositions are rich tapestries where personal stories and cinematic visions intertwine, taking listeners on profound journeys beyond the surface of sound.

Recently, Di Garbi marked a major milestone in her career, becoming the first Danish solo artist to record at the prestigious Abbey Road’s Angel Studio. This opportunity arose after years of collaboration with Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, where she drew inspiration from the art and architecture that surround her performances. Di Garbi’s work with the museum culminated in a transformative collaboration with renowned artist Sean Scully, whom she met during the “Material World” exhibition. Their creative synergy led to the birth of her debut album, much of which was composed within the museum’s historic halls and brought to life in London’s legendary studio.

Reflecting on her journey, Di Garbi shared, “Recording at Abbey Road has been a dream come true. It’s not just about the history of the place but about creating something that can truly move people.” The culmination of this endeavor will be celebrated in a special concert at Thorvaldsens Museum’s courtyard on September 21st, where Di Garbi will perform alongside acclaimed cellist Josefine Opsahl and a choir, enveloping the audience in a fusion of sound, art, and architectural beauty.

At concerts Di Garbi aims to explore the essence of “being over doing,” inviting the audience to pause, reflect, and immerse themselves in the present moment. Her performance promises to be a celebration of life, sound, and the timeless connection between art and soul, set against the backdrop of one of Copenhagen’s most storied venues.
